# Chat with Porter

Explore team performance, conversations, coaching, and follow-ups.

**Chat with Porter** helps you turn your team's conversation and sales activity into useful answers and next steps. Instead of reviewing conversations or performance information one by one, you can ask questions to understand what is happening across the team, identify coaching opportunities, find areas that need attention, and uncover patterns worth following up on.

The information Porter uses depends on where you start the chat. A new chat can help you explore broader team activity, while a chat started from a specific conversation or digest uses that information as context for more focused answers. Your previous chats are saved so you can return to them later.

## **Explore team performance and coaching opportunities**

Use Chat with Porter to investigate team performance, identify where coaching may be needed, and understand patterns across customer conversations.

You can ask Porter to compare performance, identify areas for improvement, find recurring customer objections, review opportunities that need attention, or help you prepare for coaching discussions and one-on-ones.

**Example questions:**

* “Which team members are performing best?”
* “Who on my team needs coaching?”
* “What are the biggest areas for improvement across my team?”
* “What objections is my team hearing most often?”
* “Which opportunities need attention?”
* “What patterns stand out across my team's recent conversations?”
* “How did my team perform this week?”
* “Help me prepare for a coaching conversation with this team member.”

## **Ask about a specific conversation**

When reviewing a recorded conversation, you can ask Porter questions about the interaction without having to explain it again.

1. Open **Conversations**.
2. Open a recorded conversation.
3. At the bottom of the page, select **Chat with Porter about this call**.
4. Ask your question.

You can ask what the customer needed, which objections came up, what follow-up may be needed, how the conversation was handled, or what could have been done differently. Porter uses the conversation as context to provide a more focused answer.

## **Explore digest findings**

When reviewing a Daily or Weekly digest, you can ask Porter to explain its findings or help you decide what to focus on next.

1. Open a Daily or Weekly digest from **Digests**.
2. Select **Ask Porter about this digest**.
3. Ask your question about the results, coaching opportunities, or recommendations.

Porter uses the digest and its underlying results as context, so you can investigate a finding without having to repeat the information.

***

## **Get more useful answers**

The more specific your question, the easier it is for Porter to focus its response. When possible, mention the team member, conversation, time period, or performance area you want to explore.

When Porter identifies a conversation, opportunity, or coaching area, review the underlying information to understand the context before taking action.

## **Use Chat with Porter on mobile**

Chat with Porter is also available in the Porter mobile app. You can use it to ask questions about your conversations and other information available in the app. The available context depends on where you start the chat.

For team-wide performance reviews and digest exploration, use the web app, where the broader review experience is available.

Chat with Porter is also available in the mobile app for team members. For instructions on using it on mobile, see [**Chat with Porter on mobile**](/docs/porter-for-team-members/chat-with-porter-on-mobile.md).
