# Coach's Corner

Understand a conversation's score and identify specific coaching opportunities.

**Coach’s Corner** helps you turn a conversation score into actionable coaching feedback. It shows an overall score, a summary of what went well and what could be improved, and a step-by-step breakdown based on the playbook used to evaluate the conversation.

Timestamps in the feedback point to the moments Porter used to support its evaluation, so you can review what was actually said and understand the context behind the score.

## **Review coaching feedback**

Open the **Coach's Corner** section in a recorded conversation to review the overall coaching results.

<div data-with-frame="true"><figure><img src="https://2671034909-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F6CbdWFCK3k3xCglm07Jo%2Fuploads%2FLelCMYdC09Q6eRZRCUBr%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=9e73babc-714b-4ccf-aa51-02e894ced32a" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

At the top, you’ll see:

* **Overall score** — The conversation’s score out of 100.
* **Graded against** — The playbook used to evaluate the conversation.
* **Coaching summary** — A short summary of what was handled well and the main area or areas that could be improved.

For the example above, a conversation received a score of **77** and was graded against the **Inspection** playbook. The summary highlights several things that were handled well while identifying a specific area, such as explaining the mitigation plan and next steps more clearly.

The summary is intentionally concise, giving you the main coaching takeaway before you review the individual playbook steps.

## **Understand how the score was calculated**

Click the **Show step breakdown** to see how the conversation was scored against the individual steps in the playbook.

<div data-with-frame="true"><figure><img src="https://2671034909-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F6CbdWFCK3k3xCglm07Jo%2Fuploads%2FuWoJv4Fht90x87Jv9ILq%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=35d01739-8112-4ce2-bcfb-2a7712ba1547" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Each step includes:

* The playbook step
* A score
* Feedback explaining what Porter observed
* Timestamps pointing to relevant moments in the conversation

For example, a step such as **IMMEDIATE WORK & MITIGATION PROCESS** have its own score and feedback explaining what was covered and what was missing.

<div data-with-frame="true"><figure><img src="https://2671034909-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F6CbdWFCK3k3xCglm07Jo%2Fuploads%2FIr53t5BzWEk7Z3R3MgQh%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=64a16a81-7d59-4298-87c6-f0ef637efa8e" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

The number of steps in the breakdown shows how many playbook steps were scored for that conversation. Keep this in mind when reviewing the overall score, since the number of scored steps may differ between conversations.

If you see **No step-by-step breakdown came back with this score**, an overall score is available, but Porter did not return individual step scores for that conversation.

**Note:** Scores are shown on a 100-point scale. A score of 90 means 90 out of 100, not 9 out of 10.

## **Review the moments behind the feedback**

The **timestamps** under a coaching step point to specific moments that support the feedback. Click a timestamp to jump to and highlight the corresponding point in the transcript, making it easier to find the exact exchange Porter is referring to.

Review the surrounding conversation to understand the context behind the feedback and compare Porter's evaluation with what was actually said. Use these moments to identify what went well, where the conversation could have been handled differently, and what specific behaviors to reinforce in future coaching.

## **Turn feedback into coaching opportunities**

Use the score and step breakdown as a starting point for improving future conversations, rather than relying on the overall number alone.

A useful review workflow is:

1. Identify a lower-scoring playbook step.
2. Select one of its timestamps to review the relevant part of the conversation.
3. Compare what was said with the feedback Porter provided.
4. Use **Chat with Porter** to ask how the situation could have been handled differently or what to say in a similar situation.

This turns a score into a specific coaching takeaway that can be applied to future conversations.
