# Summary

Open a conversation and you land on **Summary**. Three tabs run across the top: Summary, [Transcript](/docs/reviewing-a-conversation/transcript.md) and [Coaching](/docs/reviewing-a-conversation/coaching.md).

## While Porter is still working

If the analysis has not finished, the top of the screen tells you where it is:

* **Analyzing this conversation** — normal. The summary and coaching score appear here when it finishes.
* **Still processing** — this is taking longer than usual. Check back later; nothing is lost.
* **This conversation couldn't be analyzed** — something went wrong, and Porter says which stage it stopped at. **The recording is safe**, and your notes are still there.

## Conversation summary

What was discussed, in Porter's words. This is the part you read in the van before the next call.

## The customer

A card showing what Porter knows about who you were talking to:

* **Contact** — the customer's name, or *Not identified* if Porter could not work it out
* **Phone**, **Email**, **Address** — when they are on file

{% hint style="info" %}
Filling in the name and phone on the Record tab *before* you start is the single most reliable way to get this card filled in correctly.
{% endhint %}

Tap **Edit contact** to correct or complete the phone, email and address. Changes save to the customer record, not just to this visit.

## Outcome and next step

* **Outcome** — where the conversation landed: Won, Lost, Pending, Follow up, Resolved, Escalated, Needs callback, or Info only. When it has not been confirmed, Porter shows its own read as **Suggested outcome**.
* **Next step** — the specific thing Porter thinks happens next, in plain language: *"Call Grace back Thursday with the revised figure."*

## Who the visit belongs to

Two pickers:

* **Recorded by** — who made the recording. Set from whoever was signed in when it was made.
* **Assignee** — who owns the follow-up from here.

They are often the same person and do not have to be. Change either by tapping it.

## Notes

Everything you saved during the visit, plus anything you add now. Type into the box at the bottom of the section and save.

Notes are the one part of a conversation that is entirely yours — Porter never rewrites them, and they survive even when analysis fails.

## Chat with Porter about this visit

The bar at the top of the conversation opens [Ask Porter](/docs/ask-porter.md) with this visit already in context. It is the fastest way to get something useful out of a call: *"What did I miss?"*, *"How should I handle the price objection next time?"*
