# Transcript

The **Transcript** tab is the conversation written out, in order.

Each turn shows a speaker label and, where Porter has it, the time into the recording:

> **Speaker 1 · 04:12** So the panel would sit on the south face, and we'd run the conduit down the outside.

## About the speaker labels

Porter labels speakers **Speaker 1**, **Speaker 2**, and so on — not *Rep* and *Customer*.

This is deliberate. The transcription can reliably tell that the voice changed; it cannot reliably tell you *whose* voice it is. Labelling one of them "Customer" would look like a fact and be a guess. Read the labels as "a different person is talking now", and the content will tell you who.

## About the timestamps

A timestamp appears only when Porter has a real offset for that turn. Turns without one show the speaker label alone.

Again, deliberate: an invented `00:00` next to every line would be indistinguishable from a real one, and you would have no way to know which you were looking at.

## When the transcript is not there

* **Still transcribing** — the audio arrived and the text is on its way. The Summary tab tells you where the analysis is.
* **Couldn't load this transcript** — a loading problem, not a lost recording. Tap the retry button.
* **Offline** — the transcript lives on the server and needs a connection to read.
