# Recording & consent

Manage recording disclosures and understand consent requirements.

Porter records and transcribes your in-person visits and phone calls to generate summaries, score leads, and organize conversations with tags. Use this page to manage the recording disclosure message for phone calls and understand important considerations around obtaining consent.

## **Two-party consent laws**

Some U.S. states and other jurisdictions require all parties to consent before a conversation can be recorded. Recording-consent requirements vary depending on the jurisdiction and circumstances.

You are responsible for obtaining consent where required by law. Porter strongly recommends always asking for consent before transcribing a conversation.

## **Recording disclosure message**

Turn on **Recording disclosure message** to automatically play a message at the start of each phone call notifying the caller that the conversation is being recorded.

The setting is enabled by default and is recommended.

Select **Save** to apply your setting.
